1925 : Number of Lights in each Window: 2 : The Two Princesses, Eithne and Fidelma, and St. Gobnait (A)

The fifth set of windows depicts the two princesses, Eithne and Fidelma, and St. Gobnait. Eithne the fair is portrayed in a magnificent emerald and jade gown decorated with tiny blue flowers. Fidelma the red is attired in a sumptuous gown of blue, lilac, crimson and green. The sisters were baptised by Saint Patrick. The lower panels show the princesses laid to rest, as they sacrificed their lives to dwell in heaven with Christ (Connellan: Story of the Belcamp Chapel Windows). The window is inscribed in old Irish script: Eitne agus Feidelm on the right border. Saint Gobnait is the patron saint of beekeepers. Gobnait is depicted with two companions, holding a crozier and a straw hive for bees. She is shown in a blue robe and an emerald cloak. The lower panel shows the saint unleashing her bees to banish thieves and cattle rustlers. The window is inscribed in old Irish script: Naomh Gobnat on the right border.   [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id="40" gal_title="belcamp-princesses-eithne-fidelma"]
