The Presentation of our Lord, with the Annunciation and flight into Egypt (1927)
Killaloe Church, Main Street, Co. Clarie, Ireland Number of Windows: 1 Number of Lights in this Window 1 Date 1927
In February 1927 Harry received a commission for a window at Killaloe (Bowe: 1994). The subject for the main panel is the Presentation of our Lord.
Harry’s design for the Killaloe light is similar to the Presentation window he designed for Sussex in 1924. The top panels depict the annunciation. The main panels depict the Presentation of Our Lord by Mary and Joseph in the temple. Mary is portrayed handing the baby Jesus to the high priest. Joseph stands beside Mary holding two doves as an offering for the temple. Three angels oversee the event from above. The lower panel depicts the holy family’s flight into Egypt.
